At noon today, the City Administration presented budget information packages for City Council’s consideration.

This is part of the new budget process requested by current Council and is aimed at achieving their commitment to reducing the mill rate.

The package will include a range of options tied to different mill rate adjustments, all of which inlcude significant expenditure reductions. These options are currently exploratory and designed to inform Council about the overall context and implications of each scenario before decisions.

Budget deliberations will be taking place on December 15 - 19, 2025.

The Union is aware that these talks include discussion of reducing municipal service levels, which could potentially effect our members and the services provided to the public. 

Currently no decisions have been made at this stage, and these scenarios are currently being presented for consideration only.
