Good day everyone, 

We have received a lot of calls about the winter rink program and what the City of Regina will be doing this year. We have met with the Employer and can communicate the following. 

The Employer will be contacting and retaining the top senior 4 or 6 casual employees this season and will be retained until there is a shortage of work. We took a lot of calls that it was going to be the top 25 casual staff, that is not the case. 

Our Union will assess this action from a prospective policy grievance standpoint. We also encourage those members that are being retained to contact our office if they have concerns with this action.
