National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD)
 

June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD), a day intended to honour the history, cultures and contributions of our Indigenous peoples. 

The City of Regina alongside the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Network will be hosting a celebration at Victoria Park & Pat Fiacco Plaza on June 21st from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you want to request leave to attend the event during work hours please reach out to your supervisor and manager as soon as possible. 
 

Volunteer Opportunities:  

The employer is looking for vonunteers to help with setting up, running and taking down the event. Please notify your manager if your interested in volunteering. 

Volunteer opertunites include, parking coordination, setup, kid zone areas, tipi security, green room, elder lounge, vendor and crafter support, cleanup, and takedown.   

Volunteers will receive a t-shirt designed by Richard Riel Dubois, a proud member of Pasqua First Nation. This t-shirt incorporates the significant dates and colours of the NIPD and 150th anniversary celebration.
